The Hydrangeas
Jake’s Jungle is a family-run plant hire business based in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
Hamish’s dad started the business, and today we run it together, caring for thousands of indoor plants across workplaces, hotels and events throughout Canterbury.
Working with living plants every day means we understand how they travel, how they perform in different environments, and how to make them look beautiful when it matters most.
Our hydrangeas are grown and cared for locally, then prepared carefully for each event. Simple, seasonal and thoughtfully styled.

Why We Created This
We held our own wedding on a family farm in Australia, surrounded by nature.
We wanted it to feel generous and beautiful — but also realistic and sustainable.
We know the planning that goes into a wedding. We know budgets matter. And we know not everyone wants to spend thousands on ceremony flowers that last only a few hours.
Living hydrangeas felt like a simple, honest solution.
Today we’re excited to bring that same simple idea to weddings across Canterbury.

Our hydrangeas bloom naturally during the Canterbury summer.
Blooms open fresh white and may develop subtle tonal variation as the season progresses. We work with the plants as they are — healthy, seasonal and at their best.
